Hard Flooring

In recent years hard floor surfaces have become very popular, replacing the more traditional carpeted flooring. These surfaces come in a variety of styles from natural stone, real wood, vinyl, ceramic tiles and modern laminates.

The appearance of the hard floor will depend on the material used, its age, and its condition. Other important factors are what finish if any have been applied to it in its lifetime and what conditions it has had to suffer.

Chem-Dry Barnsley is able to restore and improve almost any style of hard flooring. Services range from general maintenance to full renovation after years of neglect on many varied flooring materials.

With careful preparation and our three step process your floors can be beautifully restored and protected against the heaviest of wear for many years to come.

STAGE 1

GENERAL MAINTENANCE AND FLOOR PREPARATION

Removes built up dirt and grime and if necessary old worn finishes. Wooden floors can be prepared by liquid sanding (no dust or sawdust everywhere). Gouges and scratches can be colour matched to look like natural grain. All in all a simple no hassle, dust free option to preparing floors.

STAGE 2

SEALING

Chem-Dry Seal preserves the natural colour of the surface - no tints or staining. Just the floor as you chose it. Another major advantage is its very quick drying time allowing top finishes to be applied almost immediately.

STAGE 3

FINISHES

Finishes add protection to your floor. Chem-Dry finishes offer commercial quality finishes at domestic prices. Commercial finishes are measured in the number of people that can walk across the surface in an hour without the surface showing signs of wear and tear.

Imported from America where hard floors are more popular due to climate conditions and the more ready availability of hardwoods Chem-Dry finishes are proven in both the domestic and commercial markets.

Wood finishes come in three types - gloss, semi-gloss and matt. Other hard floor finishes are all gloss.

All finishes are dry within hours rather than days. In most situations the room can be returned to normal use within hours - not days as with other methods.
